Kyle Roliard is a 2008 1B/P/OF with a 6'5'', 185 lb. frame from Spring, TX who attends Klein. Kyle has a very athletic frame, and showed great speed for his size, turning in a 6.84 60 time. He also has game speed and gets out of the box well, and runs full speed all the time. He displayed good footwork around first base with range, and showed a plus release. He gets rid of the ball quickly with a quick transfer, and is accurate with his throws. He hits from a slightly open stance and strides to closed. He has a flat swing with bat speed that stays in the zone and produces lots of line drives. On the mound, Roliard throws from an over the top arm slot, and has sound mechanincs. His fastball has good sink, but it needs more consistency. His top fastball came in at 83 mph. He gives hitters problems not only with his mix of pitches and solid command, but also by hiding the ball well from the hitter. He has an understanding of how to pitch, and changes speeds effectively.
