Wyllie Marciel is a 2009 SS/OF with a 5'11'', 165 lb. frame from Kailua, HI, who attends Iolani HS. Marciel has a lean and wiry frame with athleticism. Defensively he has nice actions in the middle of the diamond. He has nice footwork that gets him in proper fielding position. Marciel's footwork also helps show range, and he charges slow rollers well showing body control. He has arm strength with a live arm that should continue to improve. He is an advanced defender. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from and average base, and he takes an aggressive stride. Marciel shows bat speed through the zone with solid swing mechanics. He is wide at contact, and he keeps his hands inside the ball showing the ability to hit to all fields. He shows speed on the bases and in the field as well.
