Daniel Pena is a 2009 1B/3B/OF with a 6'0'', 200 lb. frame from Missouri City, TX who attends Elkins. Daniel has a large developed frame with present strength and a thick lower half. He has good feet around first base and he has soft hands. He comes to and through the ball well and has a quick transfer and release on his throw. His arm works and he is accurate with his throws with some arm strength. At the plate he has an aggressive approach from a wide base and a high hand set. He has a high knee lift trigger and strides to closed. He uses no load, and flashes bat speed with a good opposite field approach. He will stay back and drive the outside pitch the other way. He has power potential to all fields and generates consistent solid contact. Daniel is also a good student.
