Elijah Davis is a 2008 OF with a 6'1'', 175 lb. frame from Turlock CA, who attends Turlock Christian HS. Selected as a Top Prospect at this event. Davis has a strong, athletically proportioned body. He possesses some explosiveness and speed too, though his 60 time at this event did not reflect that. He is an excellent all-around baseball player who contributes in all facets. Offensively he is quite talented. Davis is a line drive hitter with line drive power. His swing can explode at contact as he drives through the baseball. His hands are fast and strong. He stays inside the ball and drives balls from gap to gap. On the bases he runs hard, makes hard turns, and takes the extra base. Davis is an impact offensive player. Defensively he is just as good. He has a strong arm, quick release and ballhawking instincts in the field. He is a true centerfielder with excellent instincts. He gets good jumps, closes on the ball well, and times diving plays extremely well. Davis also understands the whole game and is as involved as any outfielder you will see, directing his teammates from centerfield the way a shortstop is expected to do. He is a good student and an outstanding player. Expect a very good college career followed by a professional opportunity. Davis is a winner.
