Willis has a lean frame, good clean mechanics, well balanced and online, stays around zone, works both sides of plate, good pitchability, changes speeds effectively, works ahead with fastball to set up off speed, and also has a solid 2-7 CB that he throws for strikes. Spread stance at the plate short to ball, quick hands, solid swing.

Tyler Willis is a 2009 LHP/OF with a 5'9'', 140 lb. frame from Homer Hlen IL, who attends Lockport Township HS. He has a very young body with narrow shoulders and a young face. Willis has a nice balanced, on line delivery that enables his arm to come through well. His fastball was very consistent at 77-78 mph and he'll cut it occasionally. Willis best pitch was a 66 mph curveball that had tight spin and a big 2-plane break to it. Willis also maintained good arm speed on a 70 mph change up. He has a good idea how to pitch and mix up his pitches with good effectiveness. His velocity should improve as he gets stronger. Willis also showed some ability with the bat. He has solid bat speed for a sophomore, with a quick, balanced line drive swing. He tracks the ball well and has bat head skills.
