Porter is a big, strong lefty that we have seen throw in the high 80s touching 90 several times. In Ft Myers at the PG World Showcase he stayed in the 87-88 range with a good breaking ball. He has a very short arm stroke. It almost looks like he’s spitting it out at hitters. But don’t be confused, he is very talented and will be very successful at the next level… Be it college or pro ball. The first thing that jumps out at you is his size and physique. He very much looks like a major league lefty at 6’4/195. He is very deceptive and seems to be able to fill the strike zone with all his pitches. The arm action may not be the prettiest, but it more than gets the job done. Porter has yet to sign with a college, but there will be many waiting in line.

Porter is another guy with an excellent body. He's very athletic, can run, throw and hit. As a lefty his future should be on the mound in pro ball. He's a low effort efficient type thrower who should end up high 80s to low 90s. The slider is a good pitch now, but could become a great pitch later on.

Porter is a left-handed pitcher with a lot of ability and potential as a pro prospect. His arm is fast and it worked good from the higher than ¾ angle he comes from. He threw downhill with good action on a consistent 86-87 mph fastball and showed us a hard 80 mph slider that was a plus pitch at times. He also had a good change-up and threw it for strikes the only 2 times he was behind in the count. He located all of his pitches well and threw a lot
