Dustin Hirschfeld -- Hirschfeld is a junior infielder from Georgia with good live athletic actions. He lists himself as a second baseman but with a wiry and projectable 6-0 frame, he looks more like he belongs on the left side of the infield. With nice arm strength and good carry on his throws, Hirschfeld profiles very well to either third base or shortstop, too. Hirschfeld hits from an open stance that he’s sometimes a bit tardy in getting closed. He has nice leverage in his swing and generates very good bat speed with a line drive type swing path. Hirschfeld hit the ball hard in batting practice and shows the ability to hit to all fields. This young prospect does plenty of things that are going to play well at the next level. Dustin is a good student and an "05" to watch.

05 who shows hitting potential. As he gets stronger he should become a good line drive gap to gap hitter. His arm plays and could be much better. Right now he's what is called a pie thrower. Doesn't get his hand on top of the ball in the cocked position. A good pitching instructor could fix that in one lesson.
