Alex Sloan is a 2010 C/P/IF with a 5'11'', 190 lb. frame from Puyallup WA, who attends Puyallup HS. Alex has a strong thick build and showed a very advanced set of catching tools for his age. At the plate Alex has good strength in his swing with nice balance and solid gap to gap pop. He doesn't have a lot of weight transfer in his swing and could really improve his power with some. Behind the plate Alex has very good catch and throw tools. He has very good footwork with a quick exchange and very strong arm for his age. Alex sets up well behind the plate with soft hands and is a good receiver. He is a strong student that should attract the attention of many high-level college programs in a few years.
