2004 Sunshine West Showcase
WP - Donnie Apodaca is a 2005 1B/OF from Mayfield HS in NM. With a good muscular build and above average strength, Apodaca had a couple good hits in BP that showed the type of potential he has. We didn’t see a specific over-powering tool, but at 1B he made all the plays. His arm registered 80mph across the diamond and at the plate he showed high hands that swung down on the ball nicely. We think there is more power in his bat than he showed and with aluminum we expect his power could realistically make an impact in any given game.
