Devon Lewis is a 6' 195 pound 2006 catcher, first baseman, and outfielder from Coral Springs, Florida who attends Cardinal Gibbons High School. He has a medium frame with a strong lower half. Devon has solid pop times from behind the plate with his best being a 2.04 at 68 mph. He also showed good actions at first base with a quick release. At the plate, Lewis has an inside out swing with a line drive swing plane. He uses an open stance with a toe tap trigger. He is very short to the ball and shows some good strength in his swing. Devon is also a very good student.

Lewis is a 6-0, 195 lb catcher from Florida with good present strength. He didn’t run the 60 but looks to have prototypical strong catcher speed. Lewis threw 72 mph during drills with a best pop time of 2.09. Lewis has some bat quickness at the plate and got a hit off the top pitching prospect at the showcase during one game. He hits from a very unconventional approach at the plate with high hands and a curled front side and this leaves him late to the ball often and not in position to use his natural strength. He should keep improving in the future if he can make adjustments. Lewis is a very good student as well.

Devon Lewis is a 2006 catcher from Cardinal Gibbons HS in Coral Springs, FL, with a 6'0", 195 lb. frame. He has a strong and stocky body and looks like a catcher. Offensively he is a right handed hitter with a closed stance. Lewis takes little to no stride with a coiled upper body, and he has a nice line drive swing plane with good hands. Lewis consistently makes good contact, and has the adjustability with his hands to use the whole field and hit the ball where it is pitched. He has solid bat speed with present strength in his swing, with power potential down the road. Defensively he threw 70 mph down to second base and had good foot quickness blocking balls in the dirt. Lewis is also a very good student.
