Casey Galvin is a 2006 RHP/1B/OF with a 6'2'', 218 lb. frame from Watkinsville GA, who attends Athen Academy. He has a big, thick body that can be firmed up with hard work. Galvin has a simple, well paced, balanced delivery that he repeats well, which enables him to keep the ball down in the strike zone and throw consistent strikes. He has a low elbow in his arm action and is what scouts would call a pie thrower. Galvin's fastball was 74-76 mph, touch 77 and had some heaviness at the plate. His curveball was 67 mph with a big, early break. Galvin plays first base when not pitching and is an opposite field hitter with a high hand pre-load approach. He is also a good student.
