Dustin Silva is a 2008 OF/P with a 6'0'', 195 lb. frame from Hanford, CA, who attends Hanford High School. Silva has present strength in his body and has a mature look. Defensively he has good arm strength from the outfield where he threw 88 mph. Silva gets good online carry on his throws, and he is very accurate. He charges the ball well with good reads off the bat. At the plate he is a left handed hitter with an aggressive approach. He stays balanced through his swing staying compact and short to the ball. Silva has bat speed through the zone with the ability to hit higher velocity pitchers. There is strength in his swing with projectable power. Silva also runs the bases well with instincts. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with slinging arm action. He has arm speed that helps produce an 82 mph fastball. He gets life on his fastball and runs it in on the hands of right handed hitters. Silva is a good student as well.
