Donald Walter is a 2008 1B/OF with a 6'1'', 225 lb. frame from Lafayette, California, who attends De La Salle High School. Walter has a stocky body with present strength. He runs well for his size running a 7.18 sixty. Defensively he has good actions around the first base bag. Walter has the ability to pick balls in the dirt with soft hands. He has a good release on his throws, and his throws are accurate. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from hits from a straight away stance. Walter uses a no load, no stride approach. He shows bat speed, and has a line drive swing plane. There is strength in his swing and he gets leverage at the point of contact showing projectable power. He tracks pitches well, and he plays hard. Walter is a good student as well.
