Joel Morrow is a 2008 RHP with a 6'5'', 185 lb. frame from Clemmons, NC who attends West Forsyth HS. He has a tall, slender build with a low waist and minimal upper body strength. He has a deliberate, slow paced delivery and a long arm action. Morrow varied his arm action frequently between standard 3/4's all the way down to below mid 3/4's and his stuff and comfort level looked better the lower he got. He might consider continuing to drop his arm angle and see what happens. Morrow's fastball was up to 81 mph but was most effective at 77 mph with good run and sinking action. He threw both a curveball at 70 mph and a change up at 68 mph that showed promise but weren't consistent. Morrow has a good arm and some potential but he is still looking for the style and adjustments, not to mention the strength, to take the next step. He is a good student off the field.
