2004 National Underclass Dec 28-30
Pijeria is a junior switch hitting infielder from Miami. He listed himself as a primary outfielder but played infield during the drills and looked like he had some talent defensively and should focus on infield work right now. Pijeria’s arm strength is still developing but his hands and feet worked well. Offensively, Pijeria has a bit more strength from the right side of the plate but shows a nicer swing and better bat head skills from the left side. From the left side he’s short and compact to the ball with an inside out approach that leads to solid contact. Pijeria also showed a nice batting eye and good patience. More strength is obviously going to help him in the future as a hitter. Pijeria is a 7.28 runner in the 60.
