2007 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
Jimmy Waters is a 2007 3B/P/SS with a 6'1'', 190 lb. frame from Council Bluffs, IA, who attends Lewis Central High School. Waters, who has committed to the University of Kansas, has a strong and athletic build. He showed good speed in the sixty (6.98) and really gets after on the bases showing instincts and aggressiveness. Defensively he has solid arm strength that should allow him to play anywhere on the infield. He makes the routine plays with body control. At the plate he is a left handed hitter who hits from a crouched stance. Waters has a short and compact swing. He has bat speed through the hitting zone, and he gets his hands in position to hit despite pushing them forward early in his set-up. Waters has agility and athleticism, and he plays the game hard hustling at all times. Waters was one of the top wrestlers in the country, and you can see his competitiveness on the field as well. He is fun to watch, and is a good student as well.
