Ross Hales is a 2008 LHP/1B with a 6'3'', 165 lb. frame from Baytown, TX who attends Barbers Hill. Ross is a tall and lanky athlete with a very projectable body. He is a quick worker on the mound with good hip action and he demonstrates a good understanding of how to pitch. He has an excellent fastball that flashes some big arm side run and sink with 2-8 action. He mixes his pitches very effectively and keeps hitters off balance. He sets up his offspeed by getting ahead early in the count and then attacks. He has a very good feel for his changeup and throws it with excellent arm action. It's a deceiving pitch that he can throw command well. His curveball is a good pitch and he knows when to throw it. He will be an excellent three pitch guy as his curveball continues to develop. He is a very projectable prospect.
