Michael Shenk is a 2009 RHP/1B with a 6'9'', 225 lb. frame from San Francisco, California, who attends Lick-Wilmerding High School. Shenk is a young player with a very tall frame and long limbs. On the mound he throws from a 3/4 arm slot with a long arm circle on the back side. Shenk has solid arm speed who works from the stretch and uses the slide step. He has very good projection on the mound and looks to throw with more velocity in the future. His fastball topped out at 76 mph, and he mixed in a 60 mph curveball with an 11/5 break. Defensively he has solid hands at first base. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits with a high back elbow. He has a long swing, but he has projectable power. There are strength gains to come, and he has upside to his overall game.
