2003 Midwest Top Prospect Showcase
Gray is an "04" RHP/OF from Arkansas. At 6'1/185 he has a good strong athletic body. He runs fairly well and showed some hitting ability. In CR he hit most everything to the opposite field. Mostly because he got out in front too early, slowing down and dragging his bat. On the mound he showed 83 mph velocity out of a high knee controlled delivery. The fastball showed cutting action. The breaking ball showed promise in the upper 60s with good spin. He has good solid mechanics even showing a good slide step out of the stretch. Could be a sleeper.
