Trent Williams is a 6-0, 180 lb senior left handed hitting third baseman from Iowa. He has a mature body with good present strength. Williams best tool is his bat. He has the natural ability to wait back on the ball and use his quick hands to hit through the ball. Williams has a crisp line drive swing and was right on just about every ball he swung at. He showed the ability to hit the ball hard to all fields and has the present strength and bat speed to have some gap to gap power. Williams is a 7.54 runner who showed good athletic actions and balance at third base. He has a quick release at third base, which masks his arm strength a bit, but he can get some strength on his throws if he needs to. Williams threw 82 mph off the mound to back this up. Overall, Williams is a mature, solid overall player who can hit at the next level. He has a sound approach to the game and knows how to play. He's also a good student off the field.
