Hamre is a 5-11, 180 lb left handed pitcher from Texas with good overall athletic ability and strength. He has a deceptive delivery with a high leg raise, quick short actions and an over the top release point. His fastball was 78-80 and pretty straight from that release point. Hamre's two best pitches were his off speed pitches. His 66 mph curveball had good depth and a true 12/6 downer break to it. His 67 mph circle change up almost looked like a screwball at times and is a really nice pitch that's going to get lots of right handed hitters out. Hamre did a good job throwing strikes with all of his pitches. Hamre has some strong tools as an outfielder as well. He's a 7.04 runner who can really turn it on running the bases. He showed good strength with his swing and had one triple deep to right centerfield that he really drove well. He even threw a runner out from right field with a perfect throw to the plate. There are a lot of ways that Hamre can beat you on a baseball field and we like the way he played and competed. He is also a very good student.
