Brett Gips is a 2005, 6'5" right handed pitcher from Yorktown, TX. He has a high leg kick in his delivery which throws off his balance a little and frequently causes him to fall off to the first base side. His fastball was steady in the 82-84 mph range from a mid-¾ release point and it was a good heavy pitch with consistent sinking action. Gips threw mostly fastballs, but would mix in a nice 69-71 mph curveball on occasion. His arm action and delivery would be conducive to throwing a power slider in the future. He has a chance to be very good at the next level. He projects very large. Brett is a good student.
