2003 Sunshine West Showcase
With one of the quickest releases in the showcase, Jacobs produced 2 second pop times routinely and hit the ball hard with wood. He was one of the top catchers in the event from the standpoint that he could do many things well and his bat showed power and a good swing. He has a good frame at 6 foot 2 and 170 pounds with room for added weight. He showed a slight uppercut that worked well for him driving a few deep balls in the game and attacking good pitching. He showed better bat-speed in the games than he did in BP and we liked his attitude as well. He came to play and there was no question after watching him that he is going to contribute quickly at the College level. Good student.
