Favian Chavira is a 2015 LHP/OF with a 5-6 145 lb. frame from Pomona, CA who attends South Hills. Small frame, thin athletic build. Pitches from a three quarters arm sl with a long arm action. Quick arm, good balance to delivery, kept the ball down in the zone well. Tight rotation on curveball with sweeping 1-7 break, located it well low to glove side. Located fastball to both sides and showed some pitchability utilizing his three pitch mix. Good fading action on changeup. Hits from an open stance, hand drop load, long swing with good extension and solid bat speed, surprising power to drive the gaps, aggressive approach. Quick feet defensively in the outfield, solid arm with accurate throws that carry well. Good student.
