Jake MacNair is a 2006 OF/2B from Palmer Trinity HS in Miami, FL, with a 5'8", 150 lb. frame. He has a lean body with athletic actions. MacNair has good speed and quickness in the field and on the bases. He ran a 7.09-sixty and has good first step quickness. Defensively he has good actions in the outfield with solid arm strength, and he doesn't really even use his lower half. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a knee lift trigger. MacNair has an upright bat angle with a high hand set. He has a very short bat path to the ball, and has very good bat speed. He is currently a contact hitter who hits from gap top gap, but he projects to be able to drive the gaps with more authority. He is a young player with upside who can make things happen with his speed and athleticism.
