2005 Ohio Valley Top Prospect
Mark Noth is a 2006 OF/C from Hinsdale Central HS in Burr Ridge, IL, with a 6'0'', 195 lb. frame. He has a strong, mature build with very good present strength. Noth played mostly outfield at the showcase but lists himself as a primary catcher. We'd like to see him more behind the plate. Noth ran the 60 in 7.42 and threw a strong 80 mph from the outfield with good accuracy. Noth hits from a narrow upright stance with a deep hand load and long stride. He has an upper cut swing plane that maximizes his power potential and very good bat speed. The ball jumped off Noth's bat and he showed home run type power. He's a high level hitting prospect who can be a run producer at the next level. Noth is also an excellent student off the field with top of the line grades and test scores.
