Josh Saavedra is a 2015 C with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Alpharetta, GA who attends Milton. Medium, athletic build with broad shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill out with added strength. Ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, moves well behind the plate with quick feet and gains ground on throws towards second base. Fast and low exchange, full arm action with a quick release, accurate throws to second base, getting on top of ball will improve carry. Shows a tight release from the outfield, short arm circle, shows strength on throws. Right-handed hitter, shows a short swing path to the ball with nice rhythm in swing. Quick hands with a line drive swing plane, gets the barrel through the zone with occasional lift in swing. Flashes strength off barrel and projects for more with incorporation of lower half.
