Jonathan McKinney is a 2015 RHP/OF with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Lassiter HS. Slender young medium build, lots of room to get stronger. Deep arm stab arm action, high 3/4's to over the top arm action, has deception but difficult mechanics to repeat consistently, some effort on release. Low 80's fastball, topped out at 84 mph, good arm speed and throws his fastball downhill, fastball gets on hitters quickly. Change up is his best pitch, lots of life with good arm speed and used with confidence. Curveball flashes hard spin and some 12/6 bite. Good raw stuff if he can make adjustments in his delivery for more consistency and command. Left handed hitter, long fluid swing, tends to step out looking to pull and lift, could develop power with addition strength. 7.53 runner, long loose arm in the outfield with good footwork and fundamentals, works through the ball well. Very good student. Named to the Top Prospect Team for this showcase.
