Chris Sargent is a 2007 C/3B/RHP from Alburnett, Iowa, with a 6'0", 165 lb. frame. Sargent has solid throws from behind the plate with good pop times. He showed good arm speed and foot quickness. Sargent showed good receiving skills with nice hands. He also showed good footwork from the infield with nice range. He is a pull hitter with a slight hand hitch, and pulls off some balls on the inner half. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot on the mound with good arm action and arm speed. He has a short arm arch on the backside with little extension out front. Sargent's fastball topped out at 71 mph with a 60 mph curveball. He gets some cutting action on his fastball . His curveball has an 11 to 5 break with some depth. Sargent is a good defensive catcher with solid hitting mechanics.
