Jonas Garcia is a 2013 OF/3B/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Katy, TX who attends Morton Ranch HS. Medium athletic build, some present strength. Versatile defensive player, very sound OF actions, strong accurate arm, on line throws, quick release, speed to cover the gaps, athletic enough to make the diving catch. Quick infield actions, quick release, soft hands, makes the routine plays cleanly, looks new to catching but has the tools to improve with coaching. Front foot hitter, short line drive swing, shows some hand strength, moves the ball around, has an idea how to hit, can be more aggressive in looking to drive the ball. Very good base runner, has instincts and uses his speed. Nice all around player.
