Jabari Richards is a 2015 OF/LHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Fayetteville, GA who attends Whitewater. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill out with additional strength. Above average runner, posted a 6.64 60-yard dash and speed plays well in game. Primary outfielder, shows fluid and athletic actions to the ball with quick feet and a strong arm with very good carry and accuracy to intended target. Also pitched, throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with a short and quick arm action in the back, creating angle at release. Works downhill with some effort at release, topped out at 84 mph with fastball, showing occasional arm side run and projects for more with better use of lower half. Curveball shows sharp and late breaking 1-7 life up to 74 mph. Left-handed hitter, starts with a high back elbow and quiet hands with a sound approach and knowledge of the strike zone. Shows quick hands and a short path to the ball with nice control of the barrel head and ability to hit to all fields with intent. Creates leverage with some effort in swing and shows strength to opposite field. Named to Southeast Top Prospect List. Very good student.
