Herrick is a 5-9, 185 lb senior third baseman from Texas with a solid body. He is a 7.96 runner who threw 69 mph during infield drills. Herrick didn't grade out very well during infield drills but was much better during the games and made a number of very good plays at third base on tough ground balls. He's a hustling defensive player who makes the most of his ability. Herrick's best tool is his bat. He switch hit in batting practice but only hit right handed in games, which is what he should probably do at this stage of his career. He has a good right handed swing with some bat speed and lift and made solid contact both in BP and in games. Herrick's going to show some gap to gap power when he gets hold of a pitch. He is also a good student.
