Charles Philpott is a 2012 RHP/OF with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Missouri City, TX who attends Hightower HS. Nice athletic build, square shoulders, good strength potential. Back turn delivery, some drift to the plate, extended overhand release point, some effort. Low 80's fastball, topped out at 83 mph, occasional cutting action. Good bite on slider, tight spin with some depth, flashed feel for a change up. Got into a good groove after a few hitters and showed command and feel for all three pitches. Shows same arm action and mechanics throwing from the outfield and infield. All or nothing approach at the plate, has strength in his swing, tends to pull off the ball looking to pull and lift. Good student.
