Joel Lanning is a 2013 C/OF with a 6-2 200 lb. frame from Ankeny, IA who attends Ankeny HS. Big frame, strong athletic build. Strong arm, arm stands out behind the plate and in the outfield. Moves well for his size, online accurate throws, showed better from OF but performed well at both positions. Raw swing mechanics but has tools to project. Good raw strength, lacks weight shift through the ball, has bat speed, still start to swing, short to the ball, drives the middle of the field. Likely to develop big power.
