Benjamin Miller is a 2013 LHP/1B with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from Clive, IA who attends Valley HS. Strong athletic build, has firmed up and lost weight, looks 6-3/205 now. Leg raise/side step delivery, compact arm action, hides the ball well, bit cross body on release, tight 3/4's release point. Steady upper 80's fastball, topped out at 89 mph, mostly straight, will occasionally turn fastball over, spots fastball well to both corners. Nice change up with arm speed, uses with confidence. Has developed a new curveball, very promising pitch at 74 mph, showed hard spin and real depth at times and threw it for strikes. Strong bodied lefty with three solid pitches and good command, has really improved. Good student, signed with Nebraska.
