2003 Sunshine West Showcase
Gonzales is a small pitcher and infielder without the big tools but can play the game and make plays. He showed quick feet in the infield, had to make a few plays that were out of the normal range and is quicker laterally than he shows 60 yards straight. He also made a couple nice throws and showed quick transitions out of the glove. He can swing wood too. He showed a less than powerful swing in BP but when the live pitchers supplied the power in the games Gonzales shortened up, got around on the pitches and got 3 good hits including a line drive double. He is a player that has more in him that at first glance and he was fun to watch. Good student.
