Nick Hynes is a 2012 RHP/3B with a 6-4 220 lb. frame from Covina, CA who attends Covina. Big, strong build with athleticism. Slow tempo delivery on mound, stays square and online. Short, clean arm action, throws downhill. Ball comes out easily, consistent mid 80s velocity, up to 88. Repeats delivery well, fastball has movement. Threw 11/5 curveball with tight downer break. Took very good infield workout at SS, even though better suited for 3B. Actions are quick, hands clean, long arm action with very good arm strength. Hit very well in games with 3 extra base hits. Balanced approach, stays back and drives ball, strength and pop in bat. Gets extension and makes solid barrel contact. High follow. Named to Top Prospect Team.
