Ramon Antigua is a 2006 MIF from Westminster Christian in Miami, FL, with a 5'7'', 165 lb. frame. He has a compact body with athletic actions and good quickness. Defensively he has nice footwork in the middle of the diamond with good hands. Antigua's quick hands and feet help him make the turn at second base and make it look easy. He also shows plus body control on slow rollers, and is an advanced fielder. The right handed hitter uses a wide base with a rock back motion pre-pitch. Antigua has plus bat speed with quick hands and can handle the best fastballs. He gets leverage in his swing and when combined with his bat speed allow him to drive the gaps with frequency. He battles at the plate and shows good bat control that will allow him to hit at the top of the order at the next level. Antigua is a solid all-around player, and is an excellent student as well.
