2004 Unsigned Seniors Showcase
Philip Joseph: Joseph is a solidly built 5-11 catcher from Florida who was one of the top catching prospects at the event. There should be plenty of college catching opportunities for this young man as his grades are excellent, too. Joseph was one of the best game hitters at the showcase, going 5-7 against live pitching and hitting just about every ball hard. He has strong hands and good bat speed and takes an aggressive, pull oriented approach in the batter’s box. Defensively, Joseph has very good arm strength, as shown by his 80 mph velocity and 1.92 pop during workouts. His game throws were a bit rushed but the physical tools are there. Joseph had a hard nosed attitude on the field and carries himself like a ball player. He's good!
