2009 National Underclass Showcase - Session 1
Jake Byrum is a 2011 RHP/OF/1B with a 6'2'', 195 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Horizon HS. Tall athletic build, good present strength. Compact arm action, high 3/4's release, tends to fall off to 1B side, good downward plane when directional, not consistent with release now. FB topped at 78 mph, good tailing action, short breaking slurve type breaking ball. Showed good power with the bat, created bat speed, deep low hand set, likes to get hands extended to ball. Good student.
