2011 Spring Top Prospect Showcase
David Stagg is a 2011 LHP with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from West Des Moines, IA who attends Valley HS. Large mature build with some present strength. David Wells type leg raise delivery, good balance above the rubber, hides the ball well, high 3/4's to over the top release, gets downhill very well. Steady 83-84 mph fastball, mostly straight but spots very well, big downer curveball has some sharpness, good arm speed on change up. Very good idea how to mix it up, pitches to spots, effective. Open to closed hitting approach, has some raw power, uses lower half well, shows lift from long one-piece swing. Will compete well at the next level. Signed with Heartland CC.
