Kelly Funk is a 2007 RHP/1B with a 6'7'', 215 lb. frame from Panama City Bch FL, who attends JR Arnold HS. He has a very tall frame and still has plenty of room to add strength. Funk has a long, extended arm action with a high 3/4's to overhand release point. He has a high leg kick in his delivery and was a bit labored on his release.. Funk's fastball at the Showcase was 79-82 mph with some running action; we've seen him throw much better in the past. His 69 mph curveball had a slurve type of break. Funk's borther Shane was a similarly sized RHP who was a 4th round pick in the 2005 draft. Funk is also a very good student.
