Anthony Fountas is a 5-8, 170 lb senior left handed pitcher from Illinois with mature features. He's an aggressive, emotional pitcher who enjoys himself on the mound and enjoys competing. Fountas has a long arm arch with a full turn your back hip turn in his delivery. His 77-79 mph fastball had big, early running action that sometimes made it difficult for Fountas to spot the ball effectively. His 70 mph curveball also has an early break but it has a big downer tilt to it that makes it an effective pitch. Fountas also threw a couple of 72 mph change ups. He'll drop down to low 3/4's to side arm on left handed hitters, especially with his off speed pitches. Fountas has an idea of how to pitch and likes mixing up his pitches and keeping the hitter's off balance. He can be effective and get quick outs when he's hitting his spots. Fountas is also an excellent student.
