Jimmy Marn is a 2005 catcher from Yorktown, VA, with good present strength. Marn’s defensive fundamentals are well above average. He has quick feet and compact actions throwing and blocking. Marn’s raw arm strength is very playable, his pop times were consistent right around 2.00 and he put all his throws right on the bag. Marn’s hand strength gives him some good potential with the bat. He has some shortness to his swing and a line drive approach that enabled him to collect a couple of sharp singles against live pitching. A little stronger and taller backside at contact would enable him to drive the ball harder. He shows quickness behind the plate and hitting potential. Jimmy is a very good student.
