George Carter is a 2011 1B/LHP, OF with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Summerfield, NC who attends Northern Guilford HS. Well proportioned athletic build, good present strength. Busy hitting approach, hits with his hands, good bat control, squares up, line drive contact approach, patient hitter. Very smooth defensive actions at first base, soft hands, good balance. Two way prospect. 86-88 mph fastball off the mound, balanced delivery, quick compact arm action, throws over hard front side. FB gets nice cutting action, hard spin on curveball, good power break, good feel for throwing strikes. Toss up as to whether long term future is on mound or in the field. Outstanding student, verbal commitment to North Carolina.
