Brett Gavasse is a 2008 SS/2B with a 5'10'', 155 lb. frame from Belmont, California, who attends Carlmont High School. Gavasse is a young player with a trim waist that is projectable. Defensively he sets up well with nice footwork allowing him to get in the proper fielding position. His hands work and he makes the plays. Gavasse also shows body control in the middle of the diamond. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an open stance with a wider base. He uses a short and compact swing with a flat bat path. Gavasse is a line drive hitter with a simple swing. He takes an aggressive swing, and he gets good extension out front. He makes consistent contact, and puts the ball in play. Gavasse is a good student as well.
