Travis Reed is a 2009 SS/OF/IF with a 5'11'', 147 lb. frame from Poway, California, who attends Poway High School. He has a lean frame. Defensively he has nice footwork that gets him in the proper fielding position. He moves around the infield well showing range and body control. His hands work, and he makes plays. Also, showed position flexibility by playing the outfield as well, and he made a nice throw from the outfield in game action. At the plate he is a right handed hitter who hits from an average base. Reed has a simple hitting approach, and he has a line drive swing plane. There is bat speed as the bat passes through the zone, and he stays compact. Reed is a contact hitter who stays inside the ball and hits to all fields. He is an aggressive swinger who battles at each at bat. Reed is a good student as well.
