2003 Spring Showcase
Pole is a senior second baseman and pitcher who showed the uncanny ability to throw with both arms. In the field he was fundamentally sound with quick hands and an accurate throw at 74 mph to first base. His swing looked good to us and he may even benefit more by keeping his hips closed longer. He had some good placement by hitting the ball where it was pitched. He seemed to make adjustments well. On the hill he showed a 77 mph fastball, 60-63 mph curve and 62 mph change-up left-handed and 75 mph fastball right-handed, but he seldom takes the mound from the right.
