David Kindred is a Class of 2006 infielder from Northport, AL, who has a very high ceiling as a hitter. Kindred is about 6'1", 165 lbs. now and has long limbs and is physically projectable. Despite his age and build, Kindred can whip the bat head from the left side. He has a big coil with both his front leg and his hands and while his swing is long and he commits early, Kindred generates very good bat speed with good extension. He had one line drive that was 90 mph off the bat and another hard game double that was crushed. Defensively, Kindred has good arm strength and fair actions that profile him to third base, especially if he meets his physical projection and grows some more and fills out. His bat plays large! David is a very good student.
