Cody Honea is a 2008 OF with a 5'11'', 150 lb. frame from Redding CA, who attends Enterprise HS. He has a lithe, athletic build and room to fill out more. Honea has the look of a good, young, developing hitter. As he gets stronger, his swing should play well at the D1 level. He has a smooth and easy stroke and good hands that start from a comfortable slot. He consistenly made good contact, spraying line drives to all fields. Honea stays inside the ball and was consistently on-time with his stroke when the ball entered the hitting zone. He is a good hitter and should continue to develop. Defensively he showed a loose arm and his easy arm action produced some carry on his throws. He threw accurately, which started with a good set-up to the ball. He has some feel for defense, though would seem physically relegated to left field, in terms of footspeed and raw arm strength.
